Not what I was looking for

Mindfulness Meditation For Pain Relief free. download full

I was looking for meditations, not talk about meditation--and not talk about meditation in a slightly grating accent. There are meditations here, once you get past the talk, but I didn't find them helpful. I much prefer Bodhipaksa who doesn't speak much and has a nice Scottish accent, but he doesn't have any meditations for pain reduction. Maybe because Buddhist meditations aren't suitable. This CD is called 'mindful meditation,' though it seems like a Buddhist slant to me. I don't know enough about Buddhism to say for sure, but what I will say though, is at this point, I'm not in a place to hear that I should 'befriend' my pain, just think of it as an 'intense sensation' rather than pain, not view it as a bad thing, not try to get rid of it--just accept it, etc. While I don't love the 'guided imagery' meditations, in this case, at this time, I think they are more useful. This CD is very breath-based (good) but I think you have to be pretty far down the road in your pain management to listen to this guy, or even understand some of the concepts he presents.
